loved this shoot.. adeline (right) is positioned so perfectly to represent all of us at one time or another, the engrossed phone look to the point where a tree could fall and you would still want to say "xx" or something as irrelevant. the interest in this photo comes as i begin to question my own connection to being online and what goodness it actually brings to daily life??? let's go back to letter writing!

a beauty of a day. i wish everyday was like this one. blazing sun, happy market folk, early and easy setup, friends all to myself all day and adriano zumbo macaroons to salivate and devour. the market adventures shall continue. p.s kitty here is a manly local, she and her owner roam the streets daily, her lead is either found dragging behind her or her other position is neatly perched on her owner's shoulder.

welcoming my new knit sweater to my mess of a wardrobe. i've been lazy and layering it over a top and jeans, but planning on a slouchy maxi skirt combo any minute. buying a knit in february seemed almost insulting, but with all this bizarre weather in sydney, girl's gotta be prepared.

there are few places i can see myself living, but hillcrest (san diego) had an awesome vibe. this was on a shopping trip to my second home while i was in cali last year, buffalo exchange....

this little van doesn't know it yet, but i'm going to be riding it's ass around oz one day. first stop is santa barbara, cali to pick it up. saw this as we were walking the main drag! it was one of the market dweller's.... the colour was perfect, of course inside was impressive too but couldn't manage an inside papp.

i can't remember what camera i used for this shot, but it's during las fallas in valencia. having travelled a lot over the past few years, i find myself randomly nostalgic about moments in time, people and places. never forget that rumble beneath the ground and my heart palpitating preparing for a heart attack... insane!

friend of mine branded this shot one right out of an 80's cult film. naturally i've not seen enough of them to judge, but i do see how the whole idea has a bit of 80's aura going on. this is on a wharf cafe nearby, so nice sipping a latte hearing the water float below you.

i saw this the other day as i was driving by, i thought it was so cute. so i decided to use this as a way to send love and good thoughts to the aussie battlers up in queensland. you guys are champions to hold up such a sense of community in a time of such havoc. heroic for your positivity and strength.... thinking of you.

nothing beats time spent in the kitchen with my baby sis. she observes, inputs the occasional stir if the wok is in session and just loves watching the food eventuate onto her plate! this is one thing i love about home cooking, the atmosphere and love around when food is on the horizon...

i love everything about this girl (adeline rapon). i've been following her blog for a while. don't know why but her and her boyfriend take some really interesting and unique shots. plus they live in paris which of course leaves my simple australian mind romanticising about the french way of life and all that style to throw around.

this was taken in barcelona at the los encantas markets. was feeling a little nostalgic today about my time in barcelona. no need to be too thoughtful though, i will be getting my second wind mid year when i head back, so this pic just makes me bloody excited now i think about it.

manly village markets

some shots from our day at manly markets a few weeks ago. as you can see the weather was temperamental and couldn't decide whether it a torrential rain kinda day or complete blazer which made working in a cauldron look like a piece of piss. our umbrella contraption and tarp managed to save us from soak status. despite the weather sitch, the mess, the colour, the chilled out market folk and general good vibes, shone through once again... sometimes i just wanna hug the markets. it's one part of my culture that i adore.

first post

after a major hiatus from writing/blogging in general, i'm back on the bandwagon but with a new spin on things. my little blog space will now be used as a haven for me to write, photograph and post as the creative juices flow. as the photo my dear sister took of me on the weekend suggests, i've had some time to bite my lip and think for a while, now it's time to do shit....
